HOW TO BECOME A PLE TRADER

GETTING STARTED

If you are interested in renting a pitch, and have not before visited Petticoat Lane Emporium, we always recommend that you come to take a look around and soak up the welcoming atmosphere of our establishment to assess whether we are an appropriate venue for you and your merchandise.

If you have decided that Petticoat Lane Emporium is a suitable place for you to start trading then please make yourself known at the Admin office or Customer Service Desk where they can give you an application form to complete and take a deposit to secure your place on our waiting list. Alternatively, you may use the online Enquiry Form which will go directly to our Admin office, this will then be followed up by a reply with further instructions on how to commence taking on your pitch.

 

PRICES & PITCHES

We offer a wide variety of pitch sizes to accommodate a wide variety of trading needs, these are as follows:

  • A free-standing Glass Display Cabinet is our smallest space to rent. These are priced at £40 per 4 week trading period (£10 per week) for open front/unlocked (unsecured) or £60 per 4 week (£15 per week) for secure serviced cabinets (including a lock, alarm and located closer to the front desk for added security).

  • An individual Clothing Rail, located on a 4ft x 2ft space. These are priced at £50 per 4 week trading period (£12.50 per week).

  • A Stacked Bushel Box Display Unit also on a 4ft x 2ft space. These are priced at £60 per 4 week trading period (£15 per week).

  • A 6ft x 6ft pitch is our standard and recommended pitch size for new traders. These pitches are priced at £140 per 4 week trading period (£35 per week).

  • If you require a larger space than 6ft x 6ft then you can take on as many 6 x 6’s as you like! 2 pitches are double the cost and any additional pitches after this are £120 per 4 week trading period (£30 per week).

  • CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE - We also have 2 x Lock-up Shop Units. Please enquire for prices & more information if you wish to know more.

PLEASE NOTE:

All rents of standard pitches refer to floor space only (tables and display units etc, are not provided). Pitch holders may paint and furnish their pitch (up to 1.8m / 6" high) and are responsible for supplying their own partitions/tables/stalls/cabinets (unlocked only) if required.

Any partitions permanently erected (i.e. screwed or otherwise fixed) will deem to become part of the fabric of the building and not removed when the trader leaves. So please do not spend more time or money than you are prepared to leave behind in the future.

 
 

RENT & DEPOSIT INFORMATION

  • To secure a place you must provide a deposit equal to 4-weeks rent of your chosen plot. This is refundable at any time (as long as you have not committed to a specific pitch) minus any bank charge, if you wish to be removed from our waiting list.

  • The first 4 weeks rent is then payable on occupation.

  • Following this, each 4 week rent is to be paid in advance, by standing order.

  • Should you decide to leave, we require notice of a full 4 week period by email or in writing. We will give you a leaving date, YOU will then need to cancel your standing order and we will use your deposit as your final 4 weeks rent.

 

Example on a Basic 6ft x 6ft Pitch**
1. £140 - Deposit to secure a pitch.
(which will be used as the rent for your
final 4 week notice period)
2. £140 - On occupation, to cover your first 4 weeks rent with us.
3. £140 - Payable every 4 weeks, in advance, by standing order.
4. Notice period of 4 weeks will be covered by your initial deposit.

Please note, tenures that commence mid 4 week term will be required to cover the balance on the first full invoice.

ON TERMINATION OF TENANCY, PITCH HOLDERS
MUST CANCEL THE STANDING ORDER.
PLE HAVE NO AUTHORITY TO DO THIS FOR YOU, OR TO REFUSE THE MONEY.
